The Mindié Initiative aims to break down the barriers that prevent too many young people from experiencing the full power of soccer—including limited funding, equipment shortages, and training environments where every child may not feel they belong.

The initiative partners with under-resourced communities to develop grassroots soccer programs that provide quality equipment, modern coaching approaches, and team cultures designed to help every player thrive—on the field and in life.

The Plesseu Foundation is seeking philanthropic partners and fiscal sponsors to expand institutional grant eligibility, increase equipment distribution, and build sustainable soccer opportunities in communities where resources are limited.

Jean-Luc is an incredible coach that genuinely cares about the kids in his camp, on top of being very knowledgeable about the game. He pushes kids to their full potential yet leaves room for them to mistakes which I believe is a crucial aspect of sport. Although soccer is what he's known for, Jean-Luc teaches much more than just the game. Any kid would be lucky to work with him.

Jean-Luc coached our daughter for two seasons. Instead of making observations about his coaching from the outside, I asked my 14 year old what she learned from him. Not only did she get a foundational understanding of the sport, she recognized Jean-Luc’s ability to teach to different learning styles, his connection with the players, and the valuable lessons around individual strengths and sportsmanship.
During one match our girls were clearly more skilled than the other team. Instead of running up the score board, Jean-Luc told the girls they had to pass a certain number of times before taking a shot on goal, switching the focus from winning to working on field position, passing, and teamwork. At the end of the game he gathered players from both teams and gave encouraging words about continuing to work hard. In no way was it diminishing, instead it helped our girls’ reflect on where they’d come from and how to build others up instead of dominate.
Jean-Luc is not only a master of the sport of soccer, he connects with kids, knows how to motivate them to get better, gives constructive feedback, fosters a healthy team dynamic, encourages student leadership, and instills character on and off the field.

As a parent, one of the things that I value most about Jean-Luc is his belief that youth soccer should be about developing players for the long term, not just about winning the next game. He sets high expectations and holds kids accountable but he does so with great encouragement and support.
